5月7日に発表されたユーロ圏の3月の小売高指数は、カレンダー・季節調整済で99.4ポイント（2021年＝100）となり、前月比0.8％の大幅上昇となりました。 内訳を見ると、食品指数は1.2％上昇、自動車燃料指数は2.0％上昇でしたが、非食品指数（自動車燃料を除く）は横ばいでした。
同日発表された米国の3月の消費者信用残高の速報値は、季節調整済で前月比年率1.5％増加しました。 前月の3.6％増から鈍化し、2024年第1四半期の3.2%の伸びを下回りました。

The volume of retail trade index in Euro-area in March 2024, which was announced on May 7th 2024, was a calendar and seasonally adjusted of 99.4 points (2021=100), a rose by 0.8 percent from the previous month significantly. Looking at the breakdown of it, the food, drinks and tobacco rose by 1.2 percent and the automotive fuel rose by 2.0 percent but the non-food products except automotive fuel unchanged.
The preliminary estimate of the consumer credit outstanding in U.S. in March 2024, which was announced on the same day, a rose by a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.5 percent from the previous month. It slowed down from 3.6 percent growth of the previous month and below 3.2 percent growth of 1st quarter of 2024.
