8月21日に発表された7月の季節調整済の貿易収支の速報値は7,550億円の赤字で、前月比7.9％減となりました。前月と比較すると、輸出は1.7％増加、輸入は0.9％増加となりました。
同日、FRBは2024年7月30日～31日のFOMC議事要旨を発表しました。私が興味を持ったのは、「最近のインフレの進展と失業率の上昇により、今回の会合で目標レンジを25ベーシスポイント引き下げる妥当な根拠が示された、またはそのような決定を支持できたと複数の人が指摘した」という点です。

The preliminary estimate for seasonally adjusted trade balance of Japan in July 2024, which was announced on August 21st 2024, was JPY755 billion deficit, an decreased by 7.9 percent from the previous month. Compared with the previous month, the exports increased by 1.7 percent and the imports increased by 0.9 percent.
On the same day, the Fed released the minutes of the FOMC meeting for July 30th–31st, 2024. I'm interested in ”several observed that the recent progress on inflation and increases in the unemployment rate had provided a plausible case for reducing the target range 25 basis points at this meeting or that they could have supported such a decision ”.
