12月22日のEU統計局の発表によると、2024年にはEUの人口の16.9%が過密世帯に居住しているとのことです。これは2014年の18.1%から減少していると報告しています。
ちなみに、過密率は、過密世帯に居住する人口の割合として定義されています。
世帯が以下の最低限の部屋数を満たしていない場合、その人は過密世帯に居住しているとみなされます。
世帯全体で1部屋
世帯内の夫婦1組につき1部屋
18歳以上の独身者1人につき1部屋
など

According to press release from the Eurostat, which was announced on 22nd December 2025, in 2024, 16.9 percent of people in the EU lived in overcrowded households. And they reported that down from 18.1 percent in 2014.
As a side note, the overcrowding rate is defined as the percentage of the population living in an overcrowded household.
A person is considered as living in an overcrowded household if the household does not have at its disposal a minimum number of rooms equal to:
one room for the household;
one room per couple in the household;
one room for each single person aged 18 or more;
and so on
