8月22日に発表されたユーロ圏の8月の消費者信頼感指数の速報値は、季節調整済でマイナス13.4ポイント（2024年7月の長期平均＝マイナス11.7ポイント）となり、前月比0.4ポイント低下しました。前月との比較で見ると、7か月ぶりの低下となりました。
同日発表された米国の8月17日終了週の失業保険の季節調整済の新規申請件数は23万2000件となり、前週比4000件増加しました。また、4週間移動平均は23万6000件で、前週平均より750件減少しました。

The preliminary estimate for consumer confidence indicator for euro area in August 2024, which was announced on August 22nd 2024, was minus 13.4 points (long term average at July 2024 = minus 11.7 points) on a seasonally adjusted basis, a fell by 0.4 percentage points from the previous month. Looking at comparison with the previous month, it fell for the first time in seven months.
The seasonally adjusted initial claims for unemployment insurance weekly number of applications in the U.S. in the week ending August 17th 2024, which was announced on the same day, was 232000, an increase of 4000 from the previous week. And the 4 week moving average was 236000, a decrease of 750 from the previous week's average.
