The ratio of job openings to job applicants in Japan in March 2024, which was announced on April 30th 2024, was 1.28 times on a seasonally adjusted basis, a rose by 0.02 points from the previous month. Looking at the breakdown of it, and differs depending on the occupation. For example, the office worker was 0.48 times but the construction worker was 4.60 times.
The preliminary estimate of the index of industrial production in Japan in March 2024, which was announced on the same day, was 101.1 points (2020=100) on a seasonally adjusted basis, a rose by 3.8 percent from the previous month.
The manufacturing PMI in China in April 2024, which was announced on the same day, was 50.4 percent, a fell by 0.4 percentage points from the previous month but was more than 50 percent.
The S&P/Case-Shiller 20-city composite home price index in U.S. in February 2024, which was announced on the same day, rose by 7.29 percent from the same month a year earlier.
The Conference Board consumer confidence index for U.S. in April 2024, which was announced on the same day, was 97.0 points (1985=100), a fell by 6.1 points from the previous month.
